Corona Virus and Small Business

If you’re confused about the Corona virus and how it will affect you and your business, you’re not the only one.

I think our Governments are taking the only approach they can and to some people it won’t be enough, to others it will be too much. One thing is for sure business will be different at least for the foreseeable future.

So what does this mean for you? Reality, some businesses will fall, others will tread water and others will flourish. I would tend to think with the money the government are providing that electrical businesses, businesses within shopping centers may benefit.

But what if you can’t function? That is a real possibility. If you own or operate a gym, hotel, kids play centre and many more, reality is your life has been turned upside down and over time other industries will also be added to the growing list. Personally I don’t know what the future holds, but this situation is shared across the globe. Will it be 6 months will it be longer? there is no answer. The government are doing the right thing, they are putting lives before anything and that’s commendable and also a hard decision.

If you are a small business and don’t think you can continue well there is help. If you hire staff there is support however I doubt if it will be enough to cover wages of other people for the period of time you will need. I am sure people understand but now livelihoods are on the line and uncertainty.

People will have no option but to use government services such as Centrelink and other government support institutions. This is certainly a hard time. It won’t be forever but there are no answers. You as a business owner will have to make some hard decisions and that’s just the fact of the world we live in today.

Below for our Australian members are some information that you might like to provide your staff and yourself to keep up to date. There is help available so I encourage you to read:
